I AIN’T ASHAMED TO BEG FOR PEACE
When witness to so much bloodshed
too deep the wound for a soul
when women are weeping the bed
staring at child’s empty bowl
burying children and a nation,
conducting the business to kill
too much money for destruction
instead of healing the ill
I ain’t ashamed to beg for peace
in every language that I can
and spread my songs over the world
to every woman, every man
May feeding the poor be trendy
diffusing the anger too
may reason and fairness be trendy
teaching the ignorant too
Let’s lift the world to higher ground
just peace in our heart and mind
spending money on healing sound
tranquility we can find
I ain’t ashamed to beg for peace
in every language that I can
and spread my songs over the world
to every woman, every man
