PEGGY SUE, Buddy Holly: Charles Hardin Holley, nascut la 7 septembrie 1936, cunoscut ca Buddy Holly, este pionerul rock´n´rollului. Cântecul ar fi trebuit initial sa se numeasca “Cindy Lou” dar legendarul rock´n´roll Holly i-a facut un favor producatorului sau: acesta era îndragostit de Peggy Sue. Ultimul sau concert l-a avut cu o zi înaintea mortii sale în Clear Lake, Iowa. A murit într-un accident de avion în apropiere de Mason City.

RING OF FIRE, Johnny Cash: S-a nascut la 26 februarie 1932 în Kingsland, Arkansas. La sfârsitul anilor 50, Johnny Cash avea o cariera în plina accensiune si de aceea desele turnee i-a afectat casatoria cu Vivian Liberto. Acest stres l-a determinat sa ia primele droguri si sa bea cât mai des. “Ring of Fire” a fost scris de Merle Kilgore împreuna cu cea care urma sa-i devina a doua sotie, June Carter. Desi erau amândoi casatoriti cu alti parteneri, erau de mult timp îndragostiti unul de celalalt. La începutul anilor 70, Cash aparea îmbracat doar în haine negre si de aceea a fost numit “Man in Black”. Hainele sale erau un contrast puternic fata de camasile viu colorate ale cântaretilor country din acele timpuri. Cash s-a explicat în fata publicului de ce poarta numai negru:

În 1997 s-a presupus ca ar avea boala Parkinson si a durat mult pâna când doctorii l-au diagnosticat în 1999 ca de fapt e vorba de sindromul Shy-Drager, o boala asemanatoare Parkinsonului. Putin mai târziu s-a descoperit ca e neuropatie, o boala a sistemului nervos. Ultima sa aparitie în public a fost la 5 iulie 2003 la un concert în Carter Family Fold. A murit la 12 septembrie 2003 în vârsta de 71 de ani.

Ultimul sau concert a avut loc la data de 25 iunie 1977. Pe 16 august a fost gasit de prietena sa, Ginger Alden, culcat în baie pe burta si dus la Baptist Memorial-Hospital. La ora 15,30 a fost anuntata oficial moartea sa. Avea doar 42 de ani si peste 150 de kilograme.

Imaginea video cunoscuta a acestui cântec ni-l arata pe Lennon în apartamentul sau din Tittenhurst Park cântând la un pian alb în timp ce sotia sa, Yoko Ono, deschide toate ferestrele pentru a intra lumina zilei. La 8 decembrie 1980, Lennon a fost împuscat de paranoicul Mark David Chapman în New York.

I se spune Nena de la vârsta de 3 ani când în concediu în Spania, spaniolii strigau dupa ea “nina” care înseamna fetita.

Dupa primele aparitii, trioul l-a angajat si pe Dave Gahan. “Depeche Mode” este expresie în limba franceza aparuta pe coperta unei reviste de moda si care înseamna: Ultimele stiri din moda. Aceasta trupa legendara s-a format în 1980 în Basildon, în apropiere de Londra si au cântat la început în baruri si cluburi de noapte unde au fost descoperiti de producatorul Daniel Miller.

Celebritatea cea mai mare a obtinut-o în 1991 cu cântecul “Smells like teen spirit”. A fost una dintre cele mai populare trupe de rock din America având un amestec de punk si alternative rock. Dupa moartea membrului ei Kurt Cobain, la 5 aprilie 1994, care era dependent de droguri, trupa s-a destramat. Cobain avea 27 de ani.A fost gasit cu supradoze de heroina în corp si…un glonte în cap. În scrisoarea sa de ramas bun acesta a încheiat: “It´s better to burn out than fade away”.
